'2024 Annual Update - Irish Statistical System Code of Practice'

This is the 2024 annual update of the Irish Statistical System Code of Practice (ISSCoP). The aim of ISSCoP Certification is to improve trust, confidence and transparency in Official Statistics produced and disseminated by the National Statistical System (NSS), reinforcing their independence, integrity, responsibility, and to enhance the quality of their Official Statistics.

There was extensive engagement and cooperation throughout 2024 between the CSO and our partners across the NSS in terms of building commitment to best practice in the production of Official Statistics under ISSCoP with the following organisations achieving certification for a range of official statistics:

• the Department of Social Protection (2 products certified)
• the Department of Health (2 products certified)
• the Health Research (7 products certified)

A number of other organisations have also commenced the ISSCOP process in 2024 and are making good progress with a view to achieving certification in 2025. CSO will continue to provide support and guidance to these organisations to help them advance their ISSCOP applications.

CSO is very appreciative of the ongoing support and engagement across the National Statistical System in the continued implementation of this significant initiative which strengthens the ability of organisations to meet both national and EU needs. CSO looks forward to this close collaboration continuing with our partners in 2025.
